Following are the rules of assigning IP addresses to the router's interfaces:

  1. All the Local Area Network and Wide Area Network should be in different networks
  2. Router Ethernet IP and the Local Area Network assigned should be in same network.
  3. Both the interfaces of router facing each other should be in the same network.
  4. The main point is that all the interfaces on router have unique and different network.

There are two main facts are about the Data Termination Equipment and Data Communication Equipment:

  1. On the DTE side there is no need to set the clock rate
  2. On the DCE side we should have to configure the clock rate.

Cloak Rate:

So what is Cloak Rate, basically clock rate is the numbers of bits flow per second and it is always configure on source side means DCE.
